Film Director As film director the students job will be to collaborate with the writers on script development, assisting the casting director(s) with hiring actors/actresses and conducting auditions. You will also discuss with the producer(s) the shooting schedule, and plan the overall "look" of the film with production designer(s) and cinematographer(s).
Producer As producer you will have overall control on all aspects of a film's production. Creating an environment where talents of the whole cast and crew can flourish is your main objective. Approving of script changes, casting, shooting locations, production schedule, and making sure that shooting goes smoothing is important. You will need to be in constant communication with the director as well as other crew and cast members. Finally you are in charge of showing the film to an audience once it is finished.
Casting Director As casting director you will be in charge of organizing and casting actors for all the necessary roles of the current film.. You will need to work closely with the director(s), producer(s), and script writer(s) to understand the requirements for each role. Having great knowledge of the art of acting is a must. Once auditions have been conducted and actors/actresses have been assigned their roles you will come along to each film shooting to make sure all actors/actresses are properly following their roles and help them if necessary at any point.
Production Designer As production designer your are responsible for the visual concept of the film. You will be in charge of finding the right locations, making props, proper lighting, helping cinematographer(s) with camera angles, and costumes. Once the concept is decided you will assign people to help you with making props and costume design.
Production Designer Assistant As production designer assistant you will help the production designer with anything they need help with in the production of the film.
Cinematographer As cinematographer your job is to bring the story to life visually. You will work with the film's director to capture the story in a way that will captivate audience's attention. Knowing how to properly work either your own camera (preferred) or the one provided to you is a must. You'll need to know lighting techniques, various camera movements and camera angles. Before shooting of the film begins you will help analyze the script with the script writer(s). You should begin research and planning prior to film making and discuss your ideas with the director(s). While not required it would be helpful if you have taken the media arts course at Wando.
Film Editor As film editor your job is to edit any and all footage filmed. You will need to know how to use some sort of film editing software.. You will discuss the sound track with the music producer and supervisor and properly edit it into the film once it is finished.
Music Producer As music producer you will be in charge of making the film's sound track. What instruments, recording tech, and/or music software you use is up to you and will change from film to film. You will need to have experience in using the proper programs or tools used to make music.
Music Supervisor As music supervisor you will have several jobs that involve helping the music producer. You will need to meet with the production team; producer, production designer and film director; to find out what kind of music the film needs. You will also assist the music producer with the making of the film's soundtrack.
Script Writer As script writer you will be charge of developing the films plot, creating characters (including character development) and writing dialogue. There will usually be more then one script writer collaborating together when coming up with the films plot. While not required it would be helpful if you have taken the creative writing course at Wando.
Storyboard Artist As a storyboard artist your job is to draw a series or pictures to represent the current script and/or screenplay. You will also work with the director to turn their vision for the film into reality. You can do this either by hand or with a computer drawing software.
Actors/Actresses As an actor/actresses you will play one or more of the roles in the film. For these roles it is preferred that you already have some acting experience. Anyone is welcome to try out for a role in the film during auditions.
Makeup Artist As a makeup artist there are many different skills you can have. You need to be good at applying makeup, making prosthetics and/or styling hair. You pretty much have your own freedom in this department as long you go along with the character's design.
